RCB registered an emphatic 112-run victory over RR in Jaipur on May 14.
Opting to bat first, RCB posted 171/5 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell (54 off 33) and Faf du Plessis (55 off 44).
In reply, RR’s innings folded for a paltry 59 in just 10.3 overs. It was a listless batting display as only two batters managed to touch the double-digit mark. Shimron Hetmyer top scored with 19-ball 35.
With this victory, RCB didn’t only gain two points to level on points with RR but their net run rate also improved significantly.
After the game, the RCB players were absolutely delighted in the dressing room and star batter Virat Kohli could be seen joking that RR would have been all out for 40 had he bowled.
"If I had bowled, they would have been all out for 40," Kohli can be heard saying in a video shared by RCB on Twitter.
Wayne Parnell starred with the ball for RCB on Sunday, returning with figures of 3/10 in his three overs. Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Joe Root were his victims.
"Very happy to get the two points and to win by such a big margin, I think the table is very congested and the net run rate is crucial for us. Every single player wants to do well but we have done really well to enjoy our teammates' success since the first game against MI," said Parnell in the video.
