IPL 2023: WATCH- Virat Kohli imparts wisdom to young Yashasvi Jaiswal after RCB blows RR away for 59 runs

Jaiswal is second on the list of most runs in IPL 2023.

The 60th match of the IPL 2023 saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) being decimated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 112 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on May 14.

Faf du Plessis, skipper of RCB, won the toss and chose to bat first. He led from the front with a knock of 55, as after adding 50 runs for the opening wicket with Virat Kohli (18), he added 69 runs with Glenn Maxwell, who made 54.

Anuj Rawat then provided the finishing touches as his 11-ball 29* propelled RCB to 171/5 in 20 overs. Adam Zampa and KM Asif took two wickets each for RR.

RR who needed to win this match to remain in contention for playoffs, were completely blown away by RCB for just 59 runs in 10.3 overs. Only Joe Root (10) and Shimron Hetmyer, who made 35 with 4 sixes and 1 four reached double-figures for RR.

This was their second-lowest total in tournament history, behind 58 which also came against RCB in IPL 2009.

For RCB, Wayne Parnell took 3/10, while Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma took two wickets each in the 112-run win.

After the match, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal were seen in conversation during which the young gun was absorbing all knowledge he could from the master cricketer.

The young left-hander is having a standout season in IPL 2023, with 575 runs in 13 matches with one century and 4 fifties to his name. He had also received praise from Kohli after he had hammered a 13-ball fifty, the fastest in history of IPL.
