Saha was one of the chief architects behind GT's win over LSG.
The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 81 off 43 balls and added 142 runs for the opening wicket with Shubman Gill (94* off 51) to propel GT to a massive 227/2 in 20 overs.
When the Titans took the field to defend the total, there was a bit of confusion as KS Bharat came out as a substitute wicketkeeper but the umpires didn’t allow him to carry on.
After some time, Saha entered the playing arena, having put on his trousers the other way around and it became the talk of the town on social media.
Following the game, Wriddhiman Saha interacted with KS Bharat and revealed what the confusion was all about and why he sported the trousers other way around.
“I told the umpires that you (Saha) are having the needling session, but they didn’t allow me to keep,” laughed Bharat while speaking to Saha in a video posted on IPL’s official website.
“I was eating, then the Physio told me to take medicine, and meanwhile, the needling session was also on. In a rush, I wore the trousers the other way around down. But after two overs, I returned, and you did a wonderful job,” Saha explained.
Reflecting on his dazzling knock that was studded with 10 fours and 4 sixes, Wriddhiman Saha said: “Preparation was same like every game. In the last match, I scored 40, and Hardik played well. I wanted to carry forward the same momentum. My plus point is that I take chances in the powerplay. My strength is to play cricketing shots and I back myself to pick the gaps.”
With this victory, the defending champions consolidated their position at the top of the IPL 2023 points table, extending their tally to 16 points from 11 games.
“Middle order and top order are contributing well in tandem. Shubman was doing it and I joined him today. As a team we are looking like a good package and hopefully, we will carry this forward,” Saha said.
