Akshar laughed out loud after Ishant's prank on Kohli.
Virat Kohli had a brilliant homecoming in Delhi as while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) he became the first batter in IPL history to reach the 7000 run mark in his team's recent match of the IPL 2023 against Delhi Capitals (DC) which was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 6th.
Kohli led with a score of 55 as the RCB team posted 181/4. Apart from Kohli Mahipal Lomror also made an unbeaten half-century while skipper Faf du Plessis made 45.
However, the RCB bowlers were in for a hammering as Phil Salt made 87 runs in 45 balls, and with support from Mitchell Marsh who made 26 and Rilee Russouw, who made 35* took Delhi Capitals to the finish line in the 17th over with 7 wickets in hand.
After the match, players of both sides were seen having a gala time in the company of one another, especially Kohli and Ishant Sharma.
Both have played together since their U-19 days and Virat had also called Ishant his ‘best friend’ since they had been together for so long and on Saturday, the veteran pacer decided to play a prank on the former Indian captain.
In a video shared by the official Twitter handle of IPL, Virat can be seen laughing his heart out in a chat with Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel after the end of the match.
Kohli was speaking to the group when he was caught off guard as Ishant hit him with what appeared to be a paper ball. Akshar Patel stood behind Virat Kohli and he couldn’t control his laughter after witnessing the incident.
"When in Delhi. Presenting 111 seconds full of smiles ft. @imVkohli to brighten your day #TATAIPL | #DCvRCB |@RCBTweets," the IPL captioned the post on Twitter.
