Gambhir, Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq all copped fines of various degrees for the melee after LSG-RCB match.
Kohli first scored 31 runs which along with Faf du Plessis’ 44, powered RCB to 126/9 in 20 overs on a testing pitch. Then Kohli took two catches and kept the heat on the LSG batters as they crumbled under pressure and some disciplined bowling by RCB and only managed 108 in 19.5 overs.
However, the actual stuff happened after the match as Virat Kohli was chided by Kyle Mayers for his gesturing after taking the catch of Krunal Pandya and showing the keep quiet sign to the crowd and had to be pulled away by LSG mentor Gambhir.
Before this, Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq also had some words while the two teams shook hands.
And then, Virat and Gautam Gambhir were at each other’s throats while arguing angrily before being separated by other players.
While in their previous encounter, LSG coach Gambhir had some role to play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in mocking the crowd after LSG won a thriller, it seemed Kohli was returning the favor at the Ekana with some prodding celebrations each time LSG lost a wicket in the chase.
However, now the actual incident that seemed to have triggered both Kohli and Gambhir’s emotions - eventually spilled over – has been revealed.
It all happened in the 17th over when Mohammed Siraj had a stare-down with Naveen Ul Haq after having conceded eight runs off the first five deliveries of his third over, and then bowled a dot ball.
Following this, Siraj proceeded to give a stare-down to Naveen and threw the ball at the stumps at the batter’s end with Naveen well inside the crease.
Naveen and Siraj exchanged a few words and it was at that moment that Kohli intervened. LSG’s other batter, veteran Amit Mishra tried to pacify Kohli, but to no avail, as he copped some words from the former RCB skipper as well.
The umpires had to intervene when Naveen charged at Kohli. Kohli was visibly miffed after that and made his thoughts clear to the umpires.

There was also one other visual in which Rahul was seen talking to Kohli and then proceeding to call Naveen, who was walking by, to come and talk to Kohli.
After the incidents, Gambhir and Kohli were been fined 100 percent of their match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct while Naveen incurred a 50 percent match fee fine.
