Jitesh Sharma was ruled out by the TV umpires despite a sliver of doubt whether the catch was clean.
The match, went down the wire, with PBKS needing 3 runs off the final ball to win the match. But, the Shikhar Dhawan-led franchise could've sealed the win a little earlier if Jitesh Sharma wasn't dismissed in a debatable manner by Tushar Deshpande on the 4th delivery of the 19th over.
With Punjab needing 11 runs from 8 balls, Jitesh hit the ball towards to long-on boundary. Substitute fielder Shaik Rasheed caught the ball but his foot seemed to have gotten close to the padding on the boundary rope.
The decision went to the TV umpire, and the replays from various angles showed that there was probably millimetres of distance between the fielder's foot and the boundary rope.
The TV umpire believed that Rasheed’s feet didn’t disturb the cushioning of the boundary rope and flashed OUT on the big screen.
However, fans were divided over the decision to give Jitesh Sharma out and some believed that Rasheed’s foot had touched the cushions.
