Yashasvi Jaiswal took the MI bowling attack to the cleaners.
Opting to bat first, the Royals got off to a brilliant start as the duo of Jaiswal and Jos Buttler added 72 runs for the opening wicket. The southpaw was the aggressor in the partnership as he completed half-century from 33 balls while Buttler got out after scoring 18 off 19 balls.
While RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals, Jaiswal held the one end firmly and took the MI bowling attack to the cleaners.
The 21-year-old reached his three-figure mark in the 18th over off just 53 balls. He continued his carnage after the landmark as well, making a mockery of MI bowlers by dealing with boundaries.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was eventually dismissed in the final over by Arshad Khan but not before the left-hander smashed 124 off 62 balls, including 16 fours and 8 sixes.
Thanks to his whirlwind knock, Rajasthan Royals racked up a mammoth 212/7 in their stipulated 20 overs.
For his jaw-dropping century, Yashasvi Jaiswal received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
