IPL 2023: WATCH – MS Dhoni loses cool at Matheesha Pathirana and Shivam Dube during RR-CSK clash

Dhoni is known for his calm and cool demeanour on the field.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has always been known for his calm attitude on the field, regardless of the situation. It is something that has earned him the nickname 'Captain Cool'.

On Thursday (April 27), however, there were a couple of instances which made Dhoni furious on the field during the RR versus CSK clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

In the first instance, Matheesha Pathirana was at the receiving end of Dhoni’s rage. The incident took place in the 16th over of RR’s innings as Pathirana got in the way of the CSK captain’s throw, which could have resulted in Shimron Hetmyer’s dismissal.

Talking about the second instance, Dhoni was livid with Shivam Dube’s lazy effort on the field that allowed RR batters to run three. The CSK skipper gave the all-rounder a death stare in the final over of Rajasthan’s innings.

Coming to the match, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bat first. Riding on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 43-ball 77 and vital contributions from Dhruv Jurel (34 off 15) and Devdutt Padikkal (27* off 13), the hosts racked up a mammoth 202/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
