Delhi Capitals (DC) are enduring a dismal Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign. Having lost five out of their seven games, the David Warner-led side is currently occupying the last spot on the points table featuring 10 teams.

Amid the on-field woes, one player of the DC squad has created quite a stir by misbehaving with a woman at a franchise party.

Days after the incident, the franchise has come up with a ‘Code of Conduct’ for its cricketers, The Indian Express reported on Thursday (April 27).

According to the report, players can no longer bring their acquaintances to their rooms post 10 pm and in case they wish to entertain their guests it should be in the team hotel’s restaurant or coffee shop. Moreover, the players need to inform the franchise officials when they wish to leave their hotel to meet someone.

The advisory shared with the players also includes a warning which states that any breach of the code might result in fine or even termination of the contract.

The franchise allows WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) of players and support staff to travel with the team during IPL. However, if a player wishes to take anyone to their rooms, they ought to inform the IPL team integrity officer and submit a photo identification to the team management beforehand.

While not mentioning any particular incident, the Code of Conduct states that for each member of the DC squad – players, support staff and management – the team’s vision and objective should be given utmost priority.

Delhi Capitals are due to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (April 29).
