Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad picked 5/64 in 8 overs between them in middle overs for GT.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first and revealed that MI made two changes as Riley Meredith replaced Jofra Archer and Kumar Karthikeya Singh came in for Hrithik Shokeen.
Though Shubman Gill made 56 in 34 balls, it looked like GT would finish anywhere between 160-180 given the way MI bowlers were pulling things back. However, then Abhinav Manohar and David Miller turned the tide as they added 71 runs in just about 6 overs.
Manohar made 42 in 21 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and David Miller made 46 in 22 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours. In the end, Rahul Tewatia with 20* in 5 balls with 2 sixes pushed GT to 207/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, MI found it difficult to score as Mohammad Shami bowled a brilliant 3-over spell up front, while Hardik Pandya got the wicket of his MI counterpart Rohit Sharma for 2 runs.
After this, the two wrist spinners from Afghanistan bowled in tandem as Rashid Khan took 2/27 and Noor Ahmad took 3/37 in their respective quota of 4 overs each.
Cameron Green (33), Nehal Wadhera (40), and Suryakumar Yadav (23) were the main scorers for MI, who finished on 152/9. Mohit Sharma also picked 2/38 in his 4 overs.
With this win, GT moved to the second spot with 10 points and 5 wins from 7 matches, while MI remained at the 7th spot with 6 points from 7 matches.
