Delhi Capitals (DC) captain David Warner was a happy man as his team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2023 in their backyard in Hyderabad on April 24. This was the first time Warner played in Hyderabad since 2019, however, back then he was the captain of the Hyderabad side.

Returning to his once-home stadium, David Warner was in an amazing mood, and upon seeing his former SRH teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Warner rushed to the pacer and touched his feet before the two hugged each other.

The video of the incident was shared on social media by IPL and it has won the hearts of many fans.

On the other hand, it was a bittersweet homecoming for Warner in Hyderabad as his parting with the SRH franchise was on a bitter note as he was benched for most of the IPL 2021 season with Kane Williamson leading the side.

Understandably, Warner was jubilant to return to Hyderabad, but this time as the opponent team's captain. His return was also made more special as DC managed to defend a paltry 144-run total against SRH, thanks to some amazing performances from Akshar Patel, Manish Pandey, Mukesh Kumar, and Anrich Nortje.

As the match neared its conclusion, Mukesh Kumar successfully defended 13 runs in the last 6 balls despite facing a rampaging Washington Sundar.

After the win, Warner was over the moon and celebrated by jumping high in the air and roaring in elation. He was quite vocal and showed his emotions as he hugged vice-captain, Akshar Patel.
