Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clashed in Match 29 of the IPL 2023 on Friday (April 21) in Chennai, with the hosts clinching a 7-wicket win to move to third spot on the points table with 8 points from 6 matches.

MS Dhoni, CSK captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first and his bowlers backed up the decision by restricting SRH to 134/7 in their 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma, who opened the innings was the top-scorer with 34, but no other SRH batter could touch the 25-mark and that hurt the side. Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler with 3/22.

CSK were expected to chase down the moderate target easily, and that was the case as Ruturaj Gaikwad (35) and Devon Conway (77*) put on a 87-run opening partnership. Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu fell for 9 each, but Moeen Ali (6*) and Conway took the team past the target with 8 balls to spare. SRH's Mayank Markande impressed again with 2/23.

Jadeja was named the Player-of-the-Match for his terrific spell which broke the back of SRH's batting.

After the match, CSK captain MS Dhoni was seen surrounded by several SRH youngsters who wanted to learn from him, and the 41-year-old veteran wicket-keeper was happy to oblige them.
