IPL 2023: Cricket fraternity reacts as RCB hands DC its fifth straight loss; win the match by 23 runs

Delhi Capitals are still at the 10th spot on the points table.

The 20th match of the IPL 2023 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15, 2023. DC was looking for their first win in the tournament.

David Warner, the DC captain won the toss and chose to bowl first. For DC, Mitchell Marsh replaced Rovman Powell, while David Willey made way for Wanindu Hasaranga in the RCB XI. Vyshak Vijaykumar also came in for Karn Sharma.

Virat Kohli was the top-scorer for RCB with 50 runs, while Mahipal Lomror (26), Glenn Maxwell (24), and Shahbaz Ahmed (20*) were other contributors as the team posted 174/6 in 20 overs. For DC, Mitchell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets each.

In response, Delhi Capitals just couldn’t get any momentum in their innings as Prithvi Shaw fell for a duck, getting run out in the first over. Only Manish Pandey (50), Anrich Nortje (23*), and Akshar Patel (21) scored some runs for the DC side.

In the end, DC finished their 20 overs to 151/9, while for the RCB, debutant Vijaykumar Vyshak picked three wickets and Mohammed Siraj took two wickets.

With this 23-run win, RCB now has 4 points in 4 matches to their name, while DC remain at the 10th spot still waiting for their first win after 5 matches.
