IPL 2023: RCB announce replacement players for injured Reece Topley and Rajat Patidar

Topley dislocated his shoulder against MI, while Patidar couldn't recover in time from his heel injury.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise has named its replacement players for the injured England pacer Reece Topley and Indian batter Rajat Patidar respectively. RCB has played two games thus far and won one game.

England fast bowler Reece Topley was ruled out of IPL 2023 after dislocating his right shoulder during Royal Challengers Bangalore's opening game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians on April 2.

Rajat Patidar, on the other hand, was ruled out after failing to recover in time from the heel injury he has suffered before the IPL 2023 season began.

Meanwhile, RCB has named South African left-arm pacer Wayne Parnell as a replacement for injured Reece Topley, while Karnataka all-rounder Vyashak Vijay Kumar has replaced Rajat Patidar in the squad for the remainder of IPL 2023.

Parnell has so far represented South Africa in 56 T20Is, in addition to 6 Tests and 73 ODIs, and has 59 T20I wickets against his name. The left-arm pacer has played 26 IPL matches and has 26 IPL wickets to his name. He joins RCB for INR 75 lakhs.

Vyashak Vijay Kumar has played 14 T20s, scalping 22 wickets, and joins RCB for INR 20 Lakh.
