RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Du Plessis apparently called heads at the toss and it came as heads but the match referee somehow heard the RCB captain calling it tails, which led to confusion.
Former India cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, who was conducting the toss, did hear the call though, and confirmed that it was Faf who won it.
Here’s the video:
“Going to have a bowl. Bit of a misunderstanding with the accent there (confusion at the toss). Was dew last night. Hoping it will get skiddy in the second innings. That's a long way away. Today is a completely new game. Really motivated to put in a good performance,” Faf du Plessis said while speaking to Manjrekar at the toss.
