The upcoming IPL 2023 tournament has been sadly touched by the ominous injury curse as after the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer missing out on the tournament, there are concerns over the participation of CSK’s Mukesh Choudhary and LSG’s Mohsin Khan.

Mukesh Choudhary (26) and Mohsin Khan (24), having debuted for Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants respectively in the 2022 season, are nursing injuries and face a wretched prospect of missing the upcoming season.

Both left-arm pacers had been brilliant in the IPL 2022 and impressed critics and pundits alike with their pace, and penetration, and turned a few games on their own.

Now CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that they do not have much hope on Choudhary, who had claimed 16 wickets in 13 games. He has been out of action since December 2022.

He said to Cricbuzz: "We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out.”

Choudhary is currently in National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, undergoing rehab for his back injury. "I'm good and hope to get well soon," Mukesh said when contacted by Cricbuzz.

On the other hand, Mohsin Khan played nine IPL games last season in which he claimed 14 wickets with a highly impressive economy rate of 5.97. He impressed everyone with his pace and was seen as a prospect for the Indian team who required left-arm pacers.

Mohsin is currently practicing with the franchise in Lucknow with the hope to be part of the season at some stage but LSG officials were not willing to make a prediction about whether or not he will be in a position to take the field.
