SRH will be captained by Aiden Markram in IPL 2023.
The SRH team had let go of their captain Kane Williamson ahead of the IPL 2023 auction and then made quite a few purchases, almost emptying their purse of INR 42.25 crores. Their biggest purchase at the auction was England’s young talent Harry Brook whom they bought for INR 13.25 Crores.
Mayank Agarwal, who was released by Punjab Kings, was bought by SRH for INR 8.25 crores. Another big purchase for them was wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen, who pocketed INR 5.25 crores. The side has got players who can help SRH end their trophy drought running since 2016. It remains to be seen how they construct a balanced side out of the new squad.

Markram is expected to bat at no.4, given his experience, and might be followed by explosive England batter Harry Brook, who has made quite a noise scoring 4 centuries in his first 6 Tests while having a strike rate of 148.33 in 93 T20 matches. They also have the option of an Indian finisher in Abdul Samad.

Either Heinrich Klaasen or Glenn Phillips will keep wickets for the SRH team. In the spin department, they have options of Washington Sundar, Adil Rashid, Mayank Markande, and Akeal Hossein amongst others to choose from.
