IPL 2023: Wasim Jaffer returns to Punjab Kings as batting coach; franchise confirms other coaches as well

Jaffer has resigned from his position as batting coach ahead of IPL 2022.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has returned to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team as their batting coach, the franchise announced on November 16, 2022. The 44-year-old had stepped down from his role with the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction earlier this year.

Jaffer had joined the Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) back in 2019 and had previously worked with the side for three seasons.

Earlier Punjab Kings had named Shikhar Dhawan as their new captain, while in September, Trevor Bayliss was named the new head coach, taking over from Anil Kumble.

On November 16, the PBKS franchise also confirmed that Brad Haddin has been named the assistant coach and Charl Langeveldt has also been appointed as the bowling coach of the franchise.

On November 15, the Punjab Kings announced that they had retained 16 players and one of the big names they had released was opener Mayank Agarwal, who had captained the side in IPL 2022.
