Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder Benny Howell on Sunday (22nd May) expressed his disappointment for not getting a game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. He shared a cryptic tweet before asking for movie suggestions from fans.

Howell was among the PBKS’ players who didn’t feature in the playing XI in any of the matches this season. The English all-rounder after his impressive performances in the Hundred attracted Punjab’s management, who acquired his services for INR 40 lakhs at the IPL 2022 auction.

But with the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Bhanuka Rajapksa, Kagiso Rabada and Odean Smith also in the squad, Howell certainly wasn’t a first-choice selection.

As PBKS locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last league match on Sunday, the all-rounder’s frustration for not getting selected was quite evident as he first posted a confused emoji on Twitter and then asked for movie recommendations from the fans.

He also praised Liam Livingstone for his hitting ability and lauded debutant Prerak Mankad.

Howell then called it a night, saying that it was fun tweeting and told everyone to enjoy sixes.

“Off twitter for the night. It has been fun. Good night everyone. Enjoy The sixes,” Benny Howell Tweeted.

Coming to the match between PBKS and SRH, the Mayank Agarwal-led side finished the season on a high as they thumped the opposition by 5 wickets to finish 6th on the points table. Harpreet Brar (3/26) and Liam Livingstone (49*) shined with ball and bat respectively to help their side win.
