Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are currently engaged in Match 67 of the IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This match holds huge importance for RCB as they have to win to remain in contention for a playoffs spot, despite having 14 points from 13 matches, due to their poor net run-rate.

Even if RCB win, they have to hope that Delhi Capitals lose to Mumbai Indians on Saturday (May 21) to qualify. Gujarat Titans had already booked a top two spot and have no such worries in this game.

GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first as both teams made one change each with Lockie Ferguson replacing Alzarri Joseph, while birthday boy Siddharth Kaul came in for Mohammed Siraj for RCB.

Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade fell cheaply but Wriddhiman Saha (31) continued his good form before he was run-out. Hardik Pandya (62*) led from the front to add a 61-run stand with David Miller (34), while Rashid Khan (19*) provided the finishing touch as Gujarat Titans set a target of 169 for RCB.

There was a moment during Hardik's innings that left everyone in splits, including his wife Natasa Stankovic who was watching from the stands.

Trying to smash a big shot off the final ball of the 10th over by Glenn Maxwell, he lost grip of his bat only to see it go far away next to the square-leg umpire. The commentators had a mighty laugh while Natasa, who was at first shocked also had a smile on her face after the incident.
