IPL 2022: "This is a do-or-die situation for us"- DC's Kuldeep Yadav ahead of PBKS clash

The leg-spinner also opened up about the prowess of the PBKS.

Delhi Capitals (DC) will have to beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 64th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy on Monday (May 16) to keep their playoff hopes alive.

At the moment, Delhi Capitals (DC) are in fifth place in the points table with 12 points with a positive net run rate, and if they manage to beat Punjab Kings (PBKS), it will boost their chances to make it to the top four of the ongoing IPL 2022. DC will also have a final group stage match against the MI on May 21.

Ahead of the crucial match against the PBKS, DC leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav said that it would be a do-or-die situation for the franchise and they must pass the hurdle on Monday.

As reported by ANI, Kuldeep Yadav said: “This is a do-or-die situation for us. We have performed well in the tournament, but we have lost some close games. We have to make sure that we don't repeat the mistakes we have committed in the competition so far.”

He added, “We have prepared well for our next match. We are considering the game as a knockout match for us. It will be important for us to get off to a good start, whether we bat or bowl first. It'll also be crucial for us to assess the conditions well.”

Speaking about the prowess of the PBKS, Kuldeep said: “Punjab Kings are a good side. There are a lot of good players on the team. They batted very well in their last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. There's no weak team in T20s. Anybody can put up a big score or take wickets on any given day.”

Notably, Kuldeep Yadav has so far taken 18 wickets in 12 games for DC in the ongoing IPL 2022.
