Virat Kohli’s nightmare in the IPL 2022 isn’t coming to an end and whether he is batting at no.3 or opening the innings for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), he cannot seem to buy runs.

When RCB faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in the 54th match of the IPL 2022, little did Faf du Plessis know that his winning the toss and choosing to bat first in the day game, would prove to be disastrous for his predecessor Kohli.

SRH captain Kane Williamson employed left-arm spinner J Suchith in the first over and Virat Kohli took the strike. Suchith bowled a fairly innocuous delivery which honed onto his pads. Kohli tried to hit it to the leg side, but the shot was played in the air and Kane Williamson took a simple catch at short mid-wicket.

This was the third golden duck for Virat Kohli in IPL 2022 and now he has 216 runs in 12 matches for RCB at an average of 19.63 and strike rate of 111.34. This has not been a good year for Kohli and as many experts are suggesting, he might need a break now to rejuvenate himself to be ready for the India team cricket season.

The cricket fans and cricket fraternity on Twitter just couldn’t believe the way Kohli has been getting out and the lack of runs from his bat and reacted on the social media site.
