Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Kuldeep Yadav had a blast for the second time against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), his former franchise in the ongoing IPL 2022. The two sides clashed for the second time on April 28, 2022, at the Wankhede Stadium.

KKR had lost to DC at Brabourne Stadium previously and would have loved to get equal with them.

DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. DC had made two changes as Mitchell Marsh was back in the XI after recovering from COVID-19 and also Chetan Sakariya made his DC debut in place of injured Khaleel Ahmed.

KKR, on the other hand, made three changes as Aaron Finch was back, Baba Indrajith and Harshit Rana made their debuts for the two-time IPL champions.

Chetan Sakariya started well on his DC debut, removing Aaron Finch for 3 and then Akshar Patel dismissed Venkatesh Iyer for 6 runs. Kuldeep Yadav then sprang into action and picked the important wickets of Shreyas Iyer (42), Baba Indrajith (6), Sunil Narine (0), and Andre Russell (0) to reduce KKR to 83/6 in 14 overs.

This was Kuldeep Yadav’s second four-wicket haul against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, as he had picked 4/35 when the two teams clashed before in the IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium.

In the end, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh (23) added some valuable runs with Rana doing the majority of the damage. Rana was dismissed for 57 with 3 fours and 4 sixes to his name, as KKR posted 146/9.

Apart from Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman also bowled well, picking 3/18 in 4 overs.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Kuldeep Yadav as he returned figures of 4/14 in 3 overs and lauded him on Twitter.
