Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh said that Virat Kohli needs to revert back to his younger self and be the free-flowing person he was in the past. This comes after Virat Kohli is experiencing a prolonged period of the slump in the form with the bat.

Apart from not scoring a century in any form of cricket since November 2019, Virat is enduring a terrible outing in the ongoing IPL 2022 as well. In 8 matches for the RCB, Kohli has just 128 runs to show with a best of 48 at an average of 16 and a strike rate of 119.62.

In an exclusive interview with the newly launched channel Sports18, Yuvraj stated Kohli’s work ethic is four times better than any athlete he has seen in the last 15 years and that will help him to come out of the slump.

Obviously, he is also not happy, and people aren’t too, because we have seen him setting bigger benchmarks, scoring hundreds after hundreds. But this happens to the best players. Virat needs to become a free-flowing personality again. If he can change himself and be like how he was earlier that will reflect in his game. He has proved himself to be the best of this era and believes in a strong work ethic and that has brought the best out of him over the years,” Yuvraj said.

Kohli recently stepped down as captain of the Indian Test team, after he relinquished the T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup 2021 and was replaced as ODI captain soon after. He had also stepped down as captain of the RCB team last year.
