Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were 32-2 at the end of the powerplay.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja admitted that the four-time champions started off very well, but they failed to execute their plans after they suffered an 11-run defeat against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 38th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 on April 25.
Chasing a target of 188 for a win against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was 32-2 at the end of the powerplay and Jadeja said that are “lacking” in not getting good starts in the first six overs of the ongoing IPL 2022.
Ravindra Jadeja said after the match: “We started off very well; we felt we gave away 10-15 runs extra at the end. We did not execute our plans very well. He [Rayudu] was batting brilliantly, throughout but as I said earlier if we could've restricted them to under 175 it would've been good.”
The star all-rounder added, “We are not getting good starts in the first 6 overs, that's where we are lacking and hopefully we will come back stronger.”
Coming back to the match, PBKS posted 187/4 on the back of Shikhar Dhawan’s 88* and Bhanuka Rajapaksa's 42, while Dwayne Bravo (2/42) scalped most of the wickets for CSK. Chasing the total, Ambati Rayudu (78) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (30) could only manage to score runs against PBKS.
