Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Dinesh Karthik on Saturday (April 16) put on a show with the bat in Match 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Karthik arrived in the middle when RCB were struggling at 75/4 after 9.3 overs. The Bangalore-based franchise soon lost the well-set Glenn Maxwell on 34-ball 55, which left themselves in a precarious position at 92/5.

Amid the pressure situation, Karthik stepped up to the plate once again for RCB. The right-hander took the DC bowlers to the cleaners, smashing Mustafizur Rahman for 28 runs in the 18th over to bring up his half-century in just 26 deliveries.

Dinesh Karthik continued his carnage after the milestone as well, eventually retuning with 66 not out off 34 balls (5 fours and 5 sixes) to propel RCB to a massive 189/5 in 20 overs. He was ably supported by Shahbaz Ahmed, who finished with 32 not out off 31 balls. The pair stitched an unbeaten 97-run partnership for the fifth wicket to put RCB in a commanding position.

For his dazzling batting display, Dinesh Karthik received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
