While Matthew Wade (12) and Shubman Gill (13) and Vijay Shankar (2) fell early for GT, Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar gave the innings stability and impetus in the middle overs. Manohar made 43 in 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, before getting out to Chahal.

Then Hardik Pandya switched into top gear and along with David Miller, punished the RR bowling the death overs. Miller finished on 31* in 14 balls with 5 fours and 1 six, while Pandya made 87* in 52 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes to his name, as GT posted 192/4 in 20 overs.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Hardik Pandya as he played a brilliant captain's knock and looked his old self with the willow.
