Andre Russell holds the overall record of reaching 100 sixes in IPL in just 657 balls.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to field first. Both GT and SRH went in unchanged and SRH bowlers made the first mark, dismissing Shubman Gill for 7, Matthew Wade for 19, and Sai Sudharshan for 11 runs.
Hardik Pandya with 50 and Abhinav Manohar with 35 were the main scorers for GT, as they managed 162/7 in 20 overs. For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan picked two wickets apiece.
Pandya hit only one six during his knock of 50* in 42 balls, but that was enough for him to complete 100 sixes in the IPL. He also broke Rishabh Pant’s record for being the fastest Indian to that milestone in terms of balls.
