IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity lauds Kuldeep Yadav as his 4/35 helps DC defeat KKR by 44 runs

KKr have now lost 3 matches out of 5 played, while DC have 2 wins in 4 matches.

The 19th match of the IPL 2022 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) clashing with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Prithvi Shaw (51) and David Warner (61) added 93 runs for the opening wicket in just 8.4 overs. Rishabh Pant promoted himself to no.3 and added a quick 27 runs.  Sunil Narine then picked two quick wickets of Lalit Yadav and Rovman Powell to peg DC back a bit.

But then Akshar with 22* in 14 balls and Shardul Thakur with 29* in 11 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four, helped DC to an imposing total of 215/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, Venkatesh Iyer got out after an entertaining 18 in 9 balls, while Ajinkya Rahane struggled for 8 in 14 balls. Then Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana came together and added 69 runs for the third wicket before Rana got out for 30 in 20 balls.

Shreyas Iyer made 54 runs before Kuldeep Yadav started to spin his magic web and got him stumped by Rishabh Pant. Kuldeep then removed the dangerous Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine as well, finishing with figures of 4/35 in 4 overs.

Andre Russell tried to let loose but could make 24 in 21 balls as KKR managed 171 runs and lost the match by 44 runs.

The cricket fraternity took to Twitter and praised Kuldeep Yadav for his excellent bowling against his former franchise.
