Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a poor start to the ongoing IPL 2022, losing their opening match to Gujarat Titans (GT), but they made a stunning comeback in the tournament by winning three back-to-back games and jumping to the second spot in the points table.

On April 7, Lucknow Super Giants thrashed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to record their third consecutive win in the ongoing IPL 2022. In this thrilling match, Quinton de Kock (80) was a star performer for the LSG with the bat, while Ravi Bishnoi (2/22) was the standout performer with the ball against the DC in the 15th match of the season.

After the match, the Proteas wicketkeeper-batter, who was adjudged the 'Player of the Match' award for scoring 80 runs off 52 balls, said that LSG wanted to keep wickets in hand against the DC.

Quinton de Kock said in the post-match presentation ceremony: “I just play what is put in front of me. It was a chase-able score but we made sure not to get too ahead of ourselves. We just wanted to keep wickets in hand.”

He added, “Obviously, Prithvi Shaw (61) made it look easy and I also felt the wicket was a bit low and slower balls were gripping. It was a matter of playing straightish.”

Notably, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will now face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next IPL 15 match on Sunday, April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
