Avesh Khan of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took four huge wickets at vital periods to help his team record their second win of the season, living up to his Rs 10 crores price tag.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was defeated by LSG by 12 runs in IPL 2022 match 12 at the D.Y Patil Stadium on Monday, defending a par total of 169.
With outstanding figures of 4/24, the bowler has advanced in the Purple Cap race. Hyderabad was restricted to 157/9 in 20 overs thanks to Avesh's outstanding effort in both the power-play and death overs.
Avesh struck twice, reducing the Sunrisers to 40 for two in the powerplay and then taking two more wickets near the end to further rattle them.
In an interview with the IPL website, Deepak Hooda, who scored 51 runs, and Khan talked about their different performances and the positives from the win.

When Hooda congratulated Avesh for claiming 4 wickets for this franchise, Khan said, "I would like to dedicate this performance to my mother who is hospitalised. I received a lot of support from her. After the match, I picked up my phone and connected with her on a video call and gave her the details of the match. By God's grace, she is fine now."
Reacting to this, Hooda said, "Superb, great to have you in our team bro."
Khan's outstanding bowling was a key factor in his team's 12-run victory over SRH, and he garnered a lot of praise for it. KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda both scored half-centuries to help the Lucknow Super Giants reach 169 for seven.
With 68 runs, Rahul led his side in scoring. To reinvigorate the innings, Rahul and Hooda formed a strong partnership, adding 87 runs for the fourth wicket.
On April 7, LSG will face Delhi Capitals at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
