CSK have lost both of their first two matches, while PBKS have won one and lost one.

The 11th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 tournament will see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Brabourne Stadium on April 3, 2022. CSK is coming into this match after losing both of their encounters, while PBKS lost their last match against KKR and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

CSK have been hurting a lot due to the absence of Deepak Chahar, as their Indian contingent of fast bowlers has not been able to leave an impact in the matches thus far. Also, the injury to Adam Milne has left them further handicapped when it comes to the pace department.

PBKS, meanwhile, will be happy and in a bit of a conundrum while choosing their playing XI as England’s Jonny Bairstow becomes available for selection from this match onwards.

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC Predicted Playing XIs for the CSK v PBKS match.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have lost both of their opening matches with considerable difference in performances between them and their opponents. First KKR just completely outplayed them in the IPL 2022 opening match.

Then when their batting clicked in the second match against Lucknow Super Giants, bowling failed to come good as they couldn’t defend the 211-run target. Some blame also goes to poor planning on part of Jadeja to give Dube the 19th over, which went for 25 runs.

Anyhow, with Adam Milne reportedly still not recovered from his side strain and Chris Jordan dealing with sore tonsils, CSK has no choice to either go with the same bowling combination or bring in young Rajvardhan Hangargekar, who has shown some good pace.

The batting is expected to remain the same with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa opening, though they would like Ruturaj to start contributing with the bat. Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni make up the middle order.

Dwayne Bravo and Dwaine Pretorius form the lower middle order and are probably their two best bowlers from the last match. CSK can then choose from Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Choudhary, and KM Asif for their Indian fast bowler.

PUNJAB KINGS

Punjab Kings will be extremely happy with Jonny Bairstow becoming available to them. However, they also have the headache of choosing which overseas player goes out to bring Bairstow to the XI.

While Mayank and Dhawan choose themselves as openers, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Liam Livingstone haven’t done badly in their spots as well. Bhanuka has a strike rate of 230 plus in the first two matches, while Livingstone has contributed with both the bat and the ball and is the designated finisher as well.

This means the only possible exclusion might be that of Odean Smith making way for Bairstow, for no fault of his own.

Shahrukh Khan keeps his place in the lower order, with Harpreet Brar, who will be partnered by Rahul Chahar in the spin department.

As for the pacers, with Smith out, Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh might get the company of Ishan Porel or Vaibhav Arora. Or if PBKS wants to go with experience, they can pick either Sandeep Sharma or Rishi Dhawan.

CSK COC Predicted Playing XI:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (WK), Dwaine Pretorius, Dwayne Bravo, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Tushar Deshpande

PBKS COC Predicted Playing XI:

Mayank Agarwal (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Ishan Porel, Arshdeep Singh
