South African batting legend AB de Villiers has made a big prediction about his former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate and good friend, Virat Kohli, for the ongoing IPL 2022.

Kohli made 41* for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their first game of the ongoing IPL 2022, though it was not enough to save the team from a five-wicket loss to the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Well, Kohli has been going through a rough patch with the bat, but AB de Villiers believes that the right-hander will score "600 plus" runs for the RCB franchise in the ongoing IPL 2022.

AB de Villiers said on YouTube channel ‘VUSport Streaming’: “Everyone knows about Faf du Plessis coming in as captain. I think the most exciting thing for me is Virat not being captain and releasing a bit of the pressure, really just going out there and freeing up. I am expecting a very big season from Virat. I am thinking 600+ runs from him this year.”

He added, “He (Kohli) will be in Faf's ear, but Faf du Plessis is also very experienced as well. He has got good cricketing training on him and he would allow Virat and some of the youngsters to just go and free up, and just enjoy the IPL. I don't know what to expect (from RCB) but I expect some individuals to really rise in this IPL from the RCB setup.”

RCB will next take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2022, and the team will certainly be looking to record their first win at the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday, March 30.
