Former Indian wicketkeeper batter, Parthiv Patel, sent out an unusual tweet after his comments about Virat Kohli's initial reaction to Jasprit Bumrah in 2014 made headlines. Patel revealed how Kohli had underestimated the young Bumrah, who was making debut for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy under his captaincy.

Parthiv claimed that in 2014, when the wicketkeeper batter was a key member of the RCB squad, he asked his captain Virat to take a closer look at Bumrah. However, the former Indian captain did not show any interest.

"In 2014, when I was at RCB, I told Kohli there's this bowler named Bumrah. Have a look at him. Virat replied saying 'Chhor na yaar. Ye Bumrah-Vumrah kya karenge?' (Leave it. What will such players do?" Parthiv said on Cricbuzz.

Soon after Parthiv's comment, fans on social media called him out and vented their rage. In response to that, the left-handed batter tweeted a popular Hindi phrase, “Neem patta aur sach dono kadwa hai!”

Here’s the tweet:

The left-hander, who had led Gujarat's domestic team, witnessed Jasprit's meteoric rise firsthand. He explained how the fast bowler from Ahemdabad struggled in his early years, but rose to new heights after putting in valiant efforts and receiving unparalleled support from the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians.

"When he was first picked, Bumrah played Ranji Trophy for the first 2-3 years. 2013 was his first year, and he didn't have a good season in 2014. In 2015, it was so bad that there were discussions going on that he might have to be sent back home mid-season. But, he slowly began improving and Mumbai Indians really backed him. It was his own hard work and such backing that really brought out the best in him," added Parthiv.
