Shahrukh Khan, who played for Punjab Kings last season, is among the players who created pre-auction buzz.
The set of uncapped batters in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) auction was followed by the uncapped all-rounders' category, where the franchises got the opportunity to go for rising talents like Shahrukh Khan, Riyan Parag, and Rahul Tewatia, who rose to fame after IPL 2020.
Parag got CSK and his ex-franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) initially, and soon Gujarat Titans (GT) joined them. Rajasthan had to stretch a fight a bit to finally secure their player for INR 3.8 crore.
It came as a surprise for many to see Abhishek Sharma getting a huge amount of INR 6.50 crore from Sunrisers. Abhishek got the attention of Punjab and Gujarat, which made it tough for SRH to buy him at a lower price.

Shahrukh got an opening bid from Chennai and they were not going to take away him so easily. After Kolkata joined the battle, the Tamil Nadu all-rounder found his ex-franchise Punjab bidding for him against CSK.
The tussle which started from the base price of INR 40 lakhs, kept going till INR 9 crore when Punjab made the final bid and put CSK out of the race.
KKR started the bid for Mavi before RCB, and PBKS showed interest. Gujarat made a late entry, so did Lucknow, but KKR still succeeded in getting him at INR 7.25 crore.
