IPL added 10 more players to auction list on the eve of the IPL 2022 auction.
The Indian cricket team all-rounder Deepak Hooda has been upgraded to the capped category in the revised auction list on the eve of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auctions to be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
Hooda was previously listed in Set No. 8 as an uncapped player with a base price of INR 40 Lakh, but after appearing for Team India in the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies at home, he has been upgraded to the capped category and is now listed at a base price of INR 75 Lakh.
In the revised auction list, Hooda features in Set No 3, comprising all-rounders, along with the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi, and Washington Sundar. The 26-year-old cricketer has now upgraded his base price from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 75 lakh.
Meanwhile, the IPL also reportedly submitted an updated list of the players to all 10 franchises on the evening of the IPL 2022 mega auction, with 10 new players being added to the list.
The latest 10 newly added players are all uncapped and they are - Australia’s Aaron Hardie, Lance Morris, and Nivethan Radhakrishnan, while India’s Agnivesh Ayachi, Hardik Tamore, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mihir Hirwani, Monu Kumar, Rohan Rana, and Sairaj Patil.
Well, of the latest players, Hardie and Morris represented Perth Scorchers in the recently concluded Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22, while Radhakrishnan, the ambidextrous spinner, was part of the Australian squad in the recent ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022.
According to ESPNCricinfo, a total of 97 players (up to Set No. 11) will be put up for bidding on February 12 at the IPL 2022 auction, with the first six sets comprising 54 names. It is also being said that a total of 98 to 161 will be up until lunch on February 13 at the auction, while the accelerated bidding begins after lunch on Sunday, February 13, from 162.
Notably, now a total of 600 players will go under the hammer at the auction, which is set to begin on Saturday, February 12 at 12 PM IST in Bengaluru.
