IPL 2022 auction will take place in Bangalore on 12th and 13th February.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra feels that young Indian pacer Kartik Tyagi can be one of the important picks in the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction.
IPL 2022 mega auction will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. With the event just a few days away, it is expected that fast bowlers, especially Indian pacers, will be a hot commodity because all franchises will look to get a few pacers in their quiver for the upcoming few years.
Among a current lot of Indian pacers, uncapped bowler Karthik Tyagi is one that can attract many bidders. He came into the limelight after his heroics in the U19 World Cup 2020. The right-arm pacer was then bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020 and so far has been decent in the tournament, picking 13 wickets from 14 matches.
However, the most famous moment of his career came in the 2021 season when he defended four runs in the final over against Punjab Kings.
Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that young pacer Kartik Tyagi will be one of the important picks for any team in the IPL 2022 auction. He remarked that he won’t mind spending 3-5 crores on the fast bowler.
"Kartik Tyagi - he missed the last year slightly due to injury but he was excellent the year prior to that. If I have money in my purse, Kartik Tyagi will be one of my important picks, I won't mind spending 3-5 crores on him," Aakash Chopra said.

Chopra said that being the tall fast bowler, franchises should go vocal for local pacer Kartik Tyagi.
“A tall fast bowler, we have discussed earlier as well that in the overseas pacers as well, there is a lot of quantity but not quality. This guy is local, it means go vocal for local,” he said.
Aakash Chopra further said that Kartik Tyagi is a unique bowler, who can bowl at 140 kph with a new and old ball. He remarked that his ability to bowl yorkers, bouncers and slower deliverers at all stages makes him unique.
"Indian fast bowler who can bowl at 140 kph, bowl with the new and the old ball, can bowl the yorkers, bouncers, slower ones. I mean what else do you need. Kartik Tyagi is that unique bowler who can bowl at all stages. He reminds me a little bit about Prasidh Krishna," he said.
