Ishan Kishan was released by the Mumbai Indians franchise ahead of the mega-auction.
Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes the talented left-handed Jharkhand batter Ishan Kishan can rejoin the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad. Ishan was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction, as MI retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kieron Pollard.
The upcoming mega-auction is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. There are a total of 590 shortlisted cricketers who will go under the hammer, which includes the likes of Faf du Plessis, David Warner, R Ashwin, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, and Dwayne Bravo.
Ishan wasn't picked by the two new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, from the draft, which gives MI a good chance to bid for him again in the auction.
When the franchise posted a tweet asking which superstar can join them in the next season, Harbhajan replied with Ishan's name and he called him a future star.
"Which superstar will don the #MI Blue & Gold next season with his bag full of talent?", wrote MI on Twitter. Harbhajan responded, "Ishan Kishan future big star".
Mumbai Indians have a total purse of 48 crores left after retaining four players.
