The IPL 2016 title winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have announced their coaching staff for the upcoming IPL 2022 edition. The tournament will be a 10-team event and the mega auction for the same is expected to be held in February next year.

SRH has retained just three players in Kane Williamson, who has been named captain, pacer Umran Malik, and all-rounder Abdul Samad before the IPL 2021 mega auction.

In an announcement on their official Twitter account, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has named Tom Moody as their head coach after Trevor Bayliss parted ways after a disastrous IPL 2021 season where the team finished at the bottom of the points table with just 3 wins to their name. Moody was earlier their director of cricket.

Simon Katich, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) coach has been roped in as assistant coach. Muttiah Muralitharan has stayed as a spin bowling and strategic bowling coach. Hemang Badani has been included as the fielding coach and as a talent scout.

However, the two big inclusions to the SRH coaching staff have been the addition of West Indian batting legend Brian Lara as their batting coach and strategic advisor. The cricketer retired in 2007 after scoring 10,000 plus runs in both formats of the game.

Apart from this, SRH has also named South African pace legend Dale Steyn as their fast bowling coach. Steyn has played for the Orange Army in the Indian Premier League and announced his retirement from the game earlier this year.
