The players in previous squad will be separated after the IPL 2022 mega-auction.
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises shared heartfelt messages on Tuesday (November 30), the deadline day for IPL 2022 retention. The maximum retention limit for a franchise is four players ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction.
With the beginning of a new IPL cycle, a lot of players from the last season will appear in a new franchise in the upcoming edition. There are no Right To Match (RTM) cards in the auction this time, and with the addition of two new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, buying back quality players will be tough.
The IPL 2021 champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wrote that the squad may get revamped, but the memories will stay in their hearts and they will always cherish it.

"Yellove is the only constant! No matter what, the memories in our hearts will always be ours to cherish. With hope and love," wrote CSK on Twitter.
Five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians posted that some of their players will reunite, and few will move on in next season, but they will always be a part of 'One Family'.
"It's Retention Day! Few will be reunited. Few will move on to play in different colours. But one thing's for sure, they'll always be part of our #OneFamily," tweeted MI.
Royal Challengers Bangalore posted that this squad will always be a family, although they are probably not going to be together at the franchise again.
The franchise wrote, "All of us are probably not going to be together at RCB again next season, such is the challenge the auction throws at us, but we will always be a family and cherish the fond memories. ❤️ Once an RCBian, always an RCBian. ????????".
