Thanks to his smoking hot form with the bat and good captaincy skills in the Indian Premier League (IPL), KL Rahul may potentially become the highest gainer in terms of salary even before the IPL 2022 auction takes place.

Rahul, who had reportedly parted ways with Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise, has been allegedly offered INR 20 crores in salary by the owners of the new Lucknow-based franchise, which is an INR 9 crores hike from his PBKS salary on INR 11 crs on which he had joined the team in IPL 2018 auction.

The eight original franchises have until November 30th to announce their player retentions, while the two new franchises can buy three players from the non-retained players' list before the IPL 2022 mega auction.

The Lucknow-based franchise was bought by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG group for a whopping INR 7090 crores. A report in Insidesport stated that Rahul, who has scored 659, 593, 670, and 626 runs in the past 4 IPL seasons, has been offered an INR 9 crs hike, taking his salary to INR 20 crores.

Also, the same report has stated that the RPSG group has offered Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan a sum of INR 16 crores. It has been reported that Rashid is unhappy with his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wanting to make him their second retention and offer him INR 12 crores.

SRH wants to retain Kane Williamson first, but Rashid wants to be the first retention for the Orange Army.
