MI failed to qualify for playoffs of IPL 2021 even after 42-run win over SRH.
The MI batter Suryakumar Yadav who is also a part of India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman, batted brilliantly in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he scored 82 off just 40 balls.
While talking to Star Sports, after the match against SRH, the right-hand batter provided an update on how he was feeling after getting hit on the head by a short ball.
“I am good, I am good (on how he is doing after being hit by a short ball). At the end of the day the show must go on and you got to keep smiling whatever happens. We had nothing to lose,” Suryakumar Yadav told Star Sports.
It was an absolute onslaught by MI batters as they posted a huge total of 235/9 in their quota of 20 overs. SRH replied with 193/8 to lose by 42 runs. The 31-year-old Yadav then revealed that the process remains the same for him even while playing in the upcoming ICC mega event in the middle east.
“We had a target, we just kept running behind it. The pitch was good. Happy to be on the winning side. It is a big tournament (T20 World Cup). We don't change anything. The process, routine all remain the same. Really looking forward to it,” Yadav concluded.
Both Ishan Kishan (84 off 32 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (82 off 40 balls) are a part of Indian squad for the showpiece event kick starting from 17 October with India beginning their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign against archrivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.
