Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad on Saturday (October 2) once again proved why he is touted as the next batting superstar of Indian cricket.

The 24-year-old has been in superb touch in the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE and he took his game to next level against Rajasthan Royals at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Opening the innings, Ruturaj took a bit of time to get his eyes in. However, once he got set, the right-hander made the mockery of RR’s bowling attack.

Gaikwad slammed his fifty off 43 balls and then took the Rajasthan bowlers to the cleaners. He notched up his next half-century in just 17 deliveries to smash his maiden IPL century off 60 balls.

In the death overs, Ruturaj wasn’t getting much strike with Ravindra Jadeja (32* off 15 balls) going berserk from the other end but the former still managed to hit his first IPL century as he smoked Mustafizur Rahman for six on the last delivery of the innings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s knock was studded with 9 fours, 5 sixes and he eventually remained unbeaten on 101 to take CSK to a massive 189/4 in 20 overs.

For his breathtaking display with the bat, Ruturaj Gaikwad received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
