Chahal picked 2-18 as RCB registered their 7th win in IPL 2021.
RCB leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the Player of the Match award for his 2/18 was upbeat about his form.
“In the first half of the IPL, I didn't bowl well in 3-4 games. Then I spoke to players and family on what I am doing wrong. and then I regained confidence in Sri Lanka. Confidence is key to bowling, so I was using that here,” Chahal said after the match.
The leggie then revealed the strategy behind him being introduced into the attack quite late against Sanju Samson’s RR as both left-handers were at the crease.

“Two left-handers were batting, so Virat said let's go with the medium pacer. He told me I will come when Lewis (Evin Lewis) gets out, but I came on since Lewis was still going good,” the right-arm spinner Chahal said.
The 31-year-old then gave an insight about how he bowled in the match citing the batters looked to take risk against the him as he said, “I wanted them to play over covers since it's wider there. Wanted to also blow slower.”
RCB restricted RR to just 149/9 in their quota of 20 overs after a superb start to their batting innings. In reply, the Virat Kohli and Co. chased the target down and won the game by 7 wickets and 17 balls to spare.
RCB will now be locking horns with KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday (3 October) at Sharjah.
