The Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul was not happy with his team’s performance on Tuesday (28 September) against the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 42 of the ongoing IPL 2021, which PBKS lost by 6 wickets.

After being put in to bat first, the PBKS lost a few early wickets due to which the Punjab-based franchise was restricted to a paltry 135/6 in their quota of 20 overs.

The right-handed Rahul while talking in the post-match presentation, made it clear that even though PBKS were short of a few runs, he was impressed with the fight shown by his team

It was a great fight, but 135 was not enough on this pitch. We should have got about 170. The boys showed a lot of fight with the ball, we have done that two games in a row,” Rahul said during the post-match presentation.

Rahul then pointed out that the next three games for PBKS are going to be quite exciting with all the teams playing their best cricket to earn a spot in the playoffs as they all are currently in the vicinity of 8-10 points.

The next three games will be interesting for us as the table looks interesting. It is what it is, we haven't been able to handle the pressure. We'll learn more if we play more together as a team. We need to be positive,” the ace right-hand batter KL Rahul said.

We have three games, so we need to take one game at a time. We need to go out there and enjoy ourselves. All our games in the UAE have gone down to the wire, hopefully, we can build on that,” he concluded.

The PBKS will now be locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (1 October) at Dubai.
