AB de Villiers was out for a golden duck.
The match was a special one for RCB and their fans as not only were they wearing a special blue jersey to honor and celebrate all the essential workers who fought and are still fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
But apart from that, RCB captain Virat Kohli was playing his 200th match and he called correctly at the toss. He chose to bat first and asked Eoin Morgan’s KKR to bowl first.

However, Virat himself couldn’t do much apart from a good-looking boundary as he was out LBW to Prasidh Krishna for 5. Devdutt Padikkal and debutant KS Bharat added a few runs before Padikkal fell to Lockie Ferguson for 22 runs and Bharat followed soon for 16 runs getting out to Andre Russell, leaving RCB 51/3.
A lot now depended on Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers, but it was not to be as Russell bowled a peach of a yorker that deflected off De Villiers’ leg and hit the stumps, on the very first ball he faced.
This sent the KKR team and their fans into a frenzy as the dangerous AB de Villiers walked back for a golden duck.
