Maxwell has scored 223 runs in seven matches in the first half of the IPL 2021.
Former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketer Parthiv Patel has on Wednesday (September 15) heaped praise on Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell ahead of the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19.
He said Maxwell is at his best when the Australian all-rounder is allowed to play the way he wants to and the RCB gave him that freedom in IPL 2021 and that eventually helped the franchise.
Maxwell was in brilliant form with the bat for the RCB in the first half of the IPL 2021 and Patel gave credit to the RCB's team management for his free-flowing batting in India, as they allowed the Aussie to play the way he wanted and he showed his game to the world.
He is one of the top 10 run-scorers in the first leg of the IPL 14 having amassed 223 runs in 6 innings to help RCB to attain the third position in the points table with 10 points before the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak inside the IPL bio-bubble in India.
As reported by ANI, Parthiv said: “I think there are certain players; they flourish in a certain atmosphere. I think, sometimes, you do not put a lot of pressure on them; you just allow that player to be what they are, and sometimes that makes a big difference to the player psyche.”
He signed off by saying, “I think you will have to give a pat on the back to RCB's management here. Glenn Maxwell, we all know what he could do, but then to allow him to be what he is and just be as free as possible. So, you will have to give the credit to RCB's team management here for allowing him to play the way he wants to.”
Noteworthy, RCB will resume its IPL 2021 campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 20.
