Rajasthan Royals will play Punjab Kings on Sept 21 in Dubai in second half of IPL 2021.
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) have completed their quota of replacement players after naming the auxiliary players for Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes for the upcoming second leg of the IPL 2021, to be played in the UAE.
RR was hit the worse in terms of injuries and pullouts and thus far have lost the services of Andrew Tye, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Jos Buttler.
They have named Tabraiz Shamsi and Glenn Phillips as replacements so far for Archer and Tye.
While Archer is dealing with his elbow problems, Stokes has taken an indefinite break from cricket for his mental health and finger injury. Jos Buttler, on the other hand, is expecting his second child and pulled out of IPL 2021’s UAE leg and the upcoming fourth Test against India at the Oval.
Now to complete their quota of replacement players, Rajasthan Royals have added the West Indies duo of Jos Buttler and Oshane Thomas to their roster.
Oshane Thomas, who plays for Barbados Royals in the ongoing CPL 2021, was part of the Rajasthan outfit in IPL 2019 and 2020 and has picked five wickets in four matches for the Royals in IPL 2019.
24-year-old Oshane Thomas had made his international debut in 2018 and received the West Indies’ Emerging Player of the Year Award in 2019. The right-arm pacer has 27 wickets in 20 ODIs, and 19 wickets in 17 T20Is.
RR will play Punjab Kings in their first match of IPL 2021’s UAE leg on September 21st in Dubai.
