Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday (August 21) departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of the IPL 2021 second phase, starting on September 19. The last season's runners-up are leading the points table after playing eight matches in the first half of the tournament.

The official account of DC posted a clip on Instagram and wrote, "Phir Se Ud Chala 2.0. We're off to UAE." Shreyas Iyer, who had captained the franchise last season, is already in UAE and preparing for the tournament.

Iyer couldn't play the first half of the tournament due to injury and Rishabh Pant led the side. He has now recovered and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) also declared him fully fit to take part in the 14th edition of IPL.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and three-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have already reached UAE and started their training camp. Both the teams will be playing the opening match of the second phase.

Delhi's first match of IPL 2021 second leg, which will be their 9th match overall, is scheduled against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 22 in Dubai.
