Guwahati’s Riyan Parag who is also one of the youngest members of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) squad, has been an integral part of this Royals’ setup after making his debut in Indian Premier League (IPL) back in 2019.

Even though the Under-19 World Cup winner was unable to deliver with the bat in the first leg of IPL 2021 which was held in India earlier this year, Parag is looking to make a difference in the second phase as the tournament moves to UAE.

I think the first half of the IPL was decent for me, but I could've done better in terms of winning more matches for the Royals. But I'm not going to be too harsh on myself, because I believe in my abilities, and through rigorous training,” the right-hand batsman said in an official Rajasthan Royals release.

I'm pretty sure I will be able to make a difference in the UAE. The tournament also presents me with the chance to perform to the best of my abilities and make a case for the senior national team,” he added.

The 19-year-old did not rue on the fact that he couldn’t train outdoors due to monsoon, instead, the explosive batsman thanked the facilities of the Rajasthan-based franchise in Nagpur.

It has been hard to practice as the monsoon season is on and we've been getting a fair amount of rain, but I think the exposure I've received during my time at the Royals' training facility in Nagpur has really helped. I had the opportunity to work on all three facets of my game, and I'm really excited to keep building on that,” Parag concluded.

Thus, it will be exciting to see how the Guwahati-based batsman performs in the UAE-leg of the tournament which is slated to begin from September 19.
